Bundle Up With A Book

Bundle Up With A Book encourages kids, teens and schools across Lambton County to read and participate in literacy activities from January 10 - February 20, 2022. 

Kids

Set reading goals and participate in fun challenges this winter. Report how many books you read per week to win up to three book prizes.

When registering, pick an animal team to join:

  • Badger
  • Painted Turtle
  • Red Fox

At the end of the Winter Reading Program, a draw will be held for one person from each animal team to win a chance to adopt their animal through the Earth Rangers. With the adoption, the winner will receive a kit that includes: a plush animal, a picture of the adopted animal, an adoption certificate and a 2022 Earth Rangers Calendar.

Elementary Schools

Schools across Lambton County can participate in the Winter Reading Program. The class that reads the most books in each category will win a pizza party! Categories are grades K - 3, and 4 - 8. The elementary school that reports the greatest number of books read will win a prize pack valued at $250.

Homeschool Groups

Homeschools across Lambton County can participate in the Winter Reading Program too! The group that reports the greatest number of books read per capita will win a prize pack valued at $250.

Teens

Read books and win prizes. Teens are challenged to read books from the Freedom to Read Challenged Works List. Report how many books you read per week to win up to three book prizes. Participants will have a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. Individuals who wish to earn community involvement activity hours may write and submit a defence of a book they have read. Defences should be a review of the book that comments on the value of the work and the importance of intellectual freedom.

Secondary Schools

Secondary schools across Lambton County are encouraged to participate in the Freedom to Read Challenge. The class that reads the most challenged books will win a pizza party! The secondary school that reports the greatest number of challenged books read will win $250 worth of materials for their library.

The tables will be updated every Monday, starting January 17. Contest closes Sunday, February 20, 2022.
