Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Library invites families to celebrate literacy and learning at the third annual Family Literacy Day Festival. This free festival will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. jointly hosted at the Sarnia Library (124 Christina St S, Sarnia) and Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (147 Lochiel St, Sarnia).

“The Family Literacy Day Festival celebrates the joy of learning,” said Vanitia Campbell, Public Services Coordinator, Youth Programs and Outreach with Lambton County Library. “When families play games, sing, dance, prepare meals, or read together, children develop skills for long-term well-being in school and life. This festival shows how fun and accessible those activities can be.”

Dufflebag Theatre presents Robin Hood

Join Dufflebag Theatre for a live performance of Robin Hood from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sarnia Library Theatre. Robin Hood delivers a rollicking ride through Sherwood Forest as our hero battles the bumbling Sheriff of Nottingham along with Maid Marian - all while stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Expect sword fights, silly jokes, and a few surprises as the audience becomes part of the show.

The Festival also features interactive literacy-focused activities for all ages, including face painting, virtual reality and retro gaming, and activities and information tables hosted by community groups including Literacy Lambton, Parent and Professional Resource Centre and EarlyON. Lambton County Children's Services, Lambton Public Health, Boys and Girls Club Sarnia-Lambton, Ska:na Family Learning Centre, and Weir Active, among others. The activities will celebrate togetherness, discovery, and the joy of learning.

Visit LCLibrary.ca for the full schedule of events at both Sarnia Library and the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery.

Since 1999, Family Literacy Day is celebrated annually across Canada. It is dedicated to creating awareness of the significance of reading and participating in literacy-related activities as a family and community.
