Apply for a Library Card

Your library card lets you borrow items from Lambton County Library's collection such as books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and video games, as well as access to all the eLibrary online resources.

  • Your card can be used to borrow materials in any of our 25 locations and at the Mobile Library
  • You must present your library card, or ID with name and address, to borrow material
  • Anyone living, working, attending school, owning property in Lambton County, or living on a First Nations reserve in Ontario - can register for a membership card, by showing acceptable proof of identity and address to any Lambton County Library location
  • Lambton County Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with neighbouring library systems, members from these neighbouring systems may register with Lambton County Library for free membership. These neighbouring library systems are:
    • Chatham Kent Public Library
    • Middlesex County Library
    • Huron County Library
  • For those who do not meet the free eligibility criteria, memberships can be purchased on a bi-annual basis at a cost of $50.00.

Apply for a Lambton County Library card by filling out the Borrower Registration Form and visiting a library location during opening hours. Printed copies of the form are available at all library locations.

Expired Cards

  • Library cards expire every two years and need to be renewed at a Lambton County Library location
  • An active library card is needed to log into your account or use eLibrary services
  • A temporary membership expires after three months
  • Visit a Lambton County Library to renew your library card

Lost / Stolen Cards and Replacement Fee

  • If your library card is lost or stolen, you must report it to your local library or call Lambton County Library Headquarters at 519-845-3324 x 5265
  • The fee to replace a lost or stolen card is $2.00

PIN (Personal Identification Number) or Password

  • A PIN / password is required to access your account and eLibrary services online. Your account is used to:
    • Find out what materials you have borrowed
    • Place a hold on materials
    • Check the due date for materials
    • Renew items you have currently borrowed
  • Obtain a PIN / password by visiting or calling your local library
  • Change a PIN / password by using the User Activities function on the library catalogue

Forgot your PIN (Personal Identification Number) / Password?

  • Visit or call any Lambton County Library location to ask about your PIN / password
  • If the library has your recent email address, your password will be sent to you immediately
  • Your PIN / password can also be emailed to you through the catalogue. Simply select Log On and then the Forgot Password or Pincode button
