Wyoming, ON – After reviewing 122 submissions from teens across Lambton County for its Teen Photo Contest:  Lambton Through the Lens, Lambton County Library and the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery have selected its winners.

A distinguished panel of jurors, including Arden Mailhiot, a music and portrait photographer; Richard Beland, a renowned music photographer; and Sonya Blazek, Curator at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, selected 25 photographs for the gallery’s upcoming exhibit, based on excellence in the categories of local icons, abstract, and romance of ruin.

The winners for the Lambton Through the Lens Teen Photo Contest include:

Overall Winner: Isis Belleman-McKeegan

Local Icon: Joey Cantalini

Abstract: Madeline Palleschi

Romance of Ruin: Alexis Brown

In addition to the category winners, the following teens will have their photographs included in this year's exhibition:

Justice Fioroni, Elizabeth Akiwenzie, Conner Freer, Azalynn Campbell, Zoe Simpson, Raveena Duggal, Randi Palmer, Mercy Naus, Livvy Clark, Byron Chu, Ameera Almalki, and Regan Jacklin.

"This contest provides an important platform for young artists to share their vision and connect with their community,” said Adrianne Lebert, Public Services Coordinator, Lambton County Library. “By engaging in creative activities like photography, teens are also developing their visual literacy skills, which are essential in our increasingly digital world."

The Lambton Through the Lens exhibition will be open for public viewing at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery from August 2 to October 12.

"We are continually amazed by the talent and creativity of our local teens. This exhibition not only showcases their incredible work but also celebrates the unique perspectives they bring to our community," said Sonya Blazek, Curator/Supervisor, Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery.

The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery offers free admission and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays until 8:30 p.m.
