Apply for a Library Card
Your library card allows you to borrow items from Lambton County Library's collection, such as books, audiobooks, movies, video games, and Library of Things items like telescopes and sports equipment, and more.
Your card can be used to borrow materials in any Lambton County Library location, with the Mobile Library, and used for Lambton County Library's digital collection.
Who Can Get a Free Card?
Membership is free if you:
- Live, work, attend school in Lambton County.
- Own property in Lambton County.
- Live on a First Nations reserve in Ontario.
Just visit any library location with proof of identity and address. For adults, one piece of photo identification is sufficient if it includes current and accurate address information; otherwise at least two pieces of identification are required and at least one must include current address information. For children, one piece of identification is sufficient along with one piece of identification from the named parent/guardian.

Lambton County Library also has reciprocal agreements with:
- Chatham-Kent Public Library
- Middlesex County Library
- Huron County Library
Members from these systems can register for a free card.
If you don't meet these requirements, you can purchase a membership for $50 every two years.
How to Apply
To get your card:
- Fill out the Borrower Registration Form.
- Bring it to any library location during open hours.
Printed forms are also available at all locations.

For individuals who self-identify as homebound, have a condition restricting their ability to physically access the library, or who have a cognitive disability. Access to most collections and services. Maximum items on loan: 50 |

Institutional |
|
Institutional borrower cards provide staff of local organizations with access to Lambton County Library's resources and collections. Maximum items on loan: 50 |
|
Non-Resident |
|
Non-Residents are individuals who do not live, work, attend school or own property in the Lambton County, or who do not live on a First Nations reserve in Ontario. A membership fee of $50 every two years applies. Maximum items on loan: 25 |
Manage Your Account
Renew Your Card
- Library cards expire every two years.
- Transitional cards expire after three months.
- An active library card is needed to log into your account or use eLibrary services.
- Visit any Lambton County Library to renew your library card.
Lost or Stolen Cards
- Report lost or stolen cards right away to your local library or call Lambton County Library Headquarters at 519-845-3324 x 5265.
- Replacement cards cost $2.00.
PIN / Password
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) / password lets you:
- Find out what materials you have borrowed.
- Place holds.
- View due dates.
- Renew materials.
- Access eLibrary services such as LinkedIn Learning, Libby and more.
To change your PIN / password, use the "User Management" function in "My Account" or in the Library App.
Forgot your PIN?
- Visit or call any Lambton County Library location to ask about your PIN / password.
- If the library has your recent email address, your PIN / password will be sent to you immediately.
- Your PIN / password can also be emailed to you through the catalogue. Simply select Log On and then the Forgot Password or Pincode button.
